Ideas
- Movie night (once a month),
- workshops (from socioloy people), once a month at a faculties house to discuss papers. Need to pitch to faculties....
Brownbags
- Instructions about portfolios for masters students (check with Nafukho).
- Journal article format presentation (check with Dr. Goodson).
- Librarian do brownbag for 30 minutes about different tools available at the Library.
- Have faculties discuss the tenure process.
- Presentation about systemic racism by Dr.Scheurich.
- Brownbags will be held Wednesdays during lunch time.
Social Activities
- Meet and Greet(welcome back) tenatively scheduled for wed, sept. 9th, 2009
Communication
- weekly newsletter which spotlights things that are going on in the department for the week; Can also do student spotlight.
- We can all communicate by email and meet when we have activities scheduled.
Happy hours
- Suggested places include: Fish Daddy, Fox and Hound.
- Decided to continue with the weekly meetings on Friday.
